THE TRANSNATIONAL NON-INTERNATIONAL ARMED CONFLICT: POSITIVE NORMS, LEADING CASES AND DOCTRINAL CONCEPTUALIZATIONS STEFANO TREVISAN* ABSTRACT The present research paper wants to examine one of the most controversial phenomenon challenging modern International Humanitarian Law: the so-called “transnational noninternational armed conflict”.

The paper wants to offer an original approach to the current discussion. In this respect, I firstly discuss the different interpretations of the relevant legal framework, as enshrined in the Geneva Conventions.
